🤎This week has been full of disruptions, but amidst it all, I experienced a moment that filled my soul greatly. 🥹I witnessed my child finding joy in playing with a non-toy for an extended period of time. I took this video after a long while of him playing with this thing. He was also excited because he had decided that one day I would pass my laptop stand down to him As a child, he would roll a duct tape back and forth for hours, but screens have since become his go-to. 💻 While I recognize the need for screen time for many autistic children like mine, to regulate from overstimulation from the world. I've been pushing for more boredom because boredom is in many cases the gateway to creativity and creativity is essential for life. 🧑🏽🦱 When he finally finished, I asked if he had enjoyed it, and he replied with a resounding "yeah." 🙌🏾 Even though I didn't get much done this week due to my child being home with chickenpox, this moment was a significant achievement for me. #AutismAwareness #Creativity #Parenting

It's International Women's Month and I'm going to talk about the incredible women who have been pillars of strength and wisdom in my life. Among them is a friend who has stood by me through thick and thin, Comet . Have you heard? I'm speaking at #IHA24 abuot succesion planning in the hospitlaity industry. More than ever in our industry there needs to be focus on succession planning, the world is changing, technology is advancing and with it, our dieas about staff in the sector has to chnage too. There already a number of groups leading the way in creating great succession planning routes for staff but I believe that more people in the #hospitalityindustry need to get onbaord.
